Dog Powered Sports Club

Welcome to Coulee K9 Dog-Powered Sports Club!

This is a recreational club created for people who want to explore dog-powered sports in a fun, supportive environment. Our goal is to give both dogs and their people a chance to try new activities, learn together, and discover what sports their dogs truly enjoy. Whether you’re brand new or already experienced, this club is about building community, developing skills, and having a great time with your dogs.

Our events are typically held in spacious outdoor areas, giving plenty of room for teams and dogs to spread out safely. Each event kicks off with an educational session led by professional dog trainers — not professional athletes, but experts in coaching and handling dogs. We’ll cover the sport of the day, the gear you’ll need, and how it all works, including demonstrations with both demo equipment you can borrow for a portion of the event and tips for using your own.

Next, we’ll go over training techniques so you can help your dog get started in the sport. After the education portion, participants will take turns trying the activities with coaching and guidance. While you wait your turn, you can observe, ask questions, and get hands-on learning from the demonstrations.

Events also feature dog-related vendors, including retail and bakery options, as well as shelter dogs who may be available for sport demos or adoption visits. We aim to have food available for purchase and to provide a relaxed, fun atmosphere where you can learn a new sport, try it out without commitment, or simply enjoy a day being active with your dog.

What to Expect at Our Events

Event Rules and Expectations

Our goal is a welcoming, safe environment for dogs of all breeds and people of all ages. To help make this happen:

No Dog Greetings: This is not a social event for dogs. Dogs should not greet other dogs or people, and others should not pet dogs that aren’t theirs. Children MUST be under control at all times and should not approach other dogs. Our events are open to dogs of all temperaments and not all dogs are dog, people, or child friendly.

Control: Handlers (adults and juniors) must maintain control of their dog at all times. Dogs must be leashed—no retractable leashes. If your dog is not under control or presents a danger, you will be asked to leave.

Clean Up: Always pick up after your dog. Buckets will be provided, but bring your own bags.

Health & Safety: Dogs must be healthy, vaccinated, and at least one year old for mild activity; two years recommended for frequent pulling sports. Muzzles and/or marked vests are encouraged for reactive dogs. Muzzles are not a reflection of your dog’s temperament but a safety precaution for all participants. Bring your own water and dish, do not share water dishes with other dogs.

Gear & Participation: Only one dog per handler at a time, if you have more than one dog, dogs waiting must be kenneled or kept safely in your vehicle until it is their turn. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes. Use borrowed gear respectfully and return it promptly.

Downtime: Dogs will have breaks; bring a crate or setup in a vehicle for them to relax.

Vendors: Bring your own tents, tables, and any power needs. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if their dog’s behavior, health, or participation puts others at risk.
